R10 Ethics and Enterprise Risk Management Committee (EERMC)
The Ethics and Enterprise Risk Management committee 2024 under Chair Dr Sudeendra Koushik will address two key issues, Ethics Awareness and Enterprise Risk Management . While Ethics awareness was initiated in 2023, Enterprise Risk Management has been added in 2024 to this committee.
Risk Management
Every successful organization in any form needs a solid risk management system to achieve its goals consistently and successfully. Every organization face various kinds of risks and they need to managed. Risk is generally stated as something that might prevent the organization from reaching its planned goals.
This topic has been introduced in R10 this year in 2024. Being a new topic, a lot of discussions and planning is happening on how to make this effective within Region 10. This committee has just started and is working closely with the Adhoc Audit Committee at the IEEE level.
An awareness session to R10 leaders is planned at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia during the R10 AGM. This should help our leaders become aware of what we are planning and how this helps IEEE and R10 in particular robust and progressive.
Ethics Awareness & Advancement
The Ethics Awareness and Advancement Committee has been initiated under IEEE R10 Director Lance Fung in 2023. The committee aims to bring awareness of the IEEE Code of Ethics among the R10 members and partners. IEEE R10 seeks dedicated and honest volunteers who uphold the highest standards of integrity and ethics. The Code of Conduct serves as a shared commitment to operate with honesty, even in challenging situations. The Ethics Awareness and Advancement Committee (EAAC) maintains zero tolerance for unethical behavior and emphasizes compliance with laws and regulations.
The Code of Conduct and firm policies promote honest relationships, enabling the continual growth of IEEE’s networking legacy. It is crucial to report any suspicions of illegal or unethical conduct by IEEE Volunteers. The Standards of Conduct outline the importance of honesty, avoiding conflicts of interest, compliance with applicable laws, and safeguarding confidential information. By adhering to these principles, volunteers contribute to preserving the esteemed reputation of IEEE.
The committee is chaired by Dr Sudeendra Koushik and is ably supported by Dr Suresh Nair, Dr Takako Hashimoto, Prof Mousmi Ajay, Dr Siva Reddy, Dr Ashwini, Dr Samiksha Shukla, Dr Chengappa M and Mr Yeshwanth L M.
